Holiday Cards

These were some fun cards I made for family and friends. If you are interested in buying, I will sell them very cheap!

Cookie Cutter Wedding Invites....No More!!

DMac Mission- To create unique, one of a kind, and affordable wedding invitations for everyone.

I love making cards, and even moreso, I love making wedding invitations! I love creating something new and original for my clients. I get to know the couple, their likes and dislikes, themes, color scheme, so I can create something unique and special.

Before I can get my website up and running, I wanted to at least post some pics of my current wedding invitations and past wedding invitations. It is my goal to be affordable and accomadating to everyone. If you have a small budget, that is quite alright. I strive to create something that is in your price range and still will look good for your special day. I have a wide range of style. That's another element about my hand-made invitations. I want to personalize your invites that reflect you and your fiancee. Formal, earthy, themed, fun, casual,.....you name it, and I will create it!

Who really wants to spend $800 or more on invites that are plain and simple? No more cookie cutter invitations.

E-mail me with any questions-big or small. Drew.Harrison2@gmail.com

Daily Grind and NEW job

Literally, I use to work at a campus cafe called the 'Daily Grind.' Back when myspace was more popular than facebook, i wrote a short posting on coffee. This is what it said-

COFFEE
Mocha, Latte, Capuccino, Americano, Cafe au lait, Espresso. After working at a campus coffee shop for three years, I still don't understand why there are so many coffee drinks!! Espresso and coffee are the same, potatoe potato!! there both bad for you.
END

So why bring this up? Two reasons i tell you. One, because I now work at an ad agency that has a coffee brand as one of their clients. Two, I know the difference between all those fabulous coffee drinks but will still not subject myself to them.

'Friends' episode- the time where Rachel quits working at the coffee house because she gets a job in 'fashion' or so she thinks. She says her goodbyes at the coffee house and reflects on how she will 'never' have to serve coffee again. jump to the next scene-her new 'fashion' boss is training her on how to make coffee. Ironic?

I won't jinx myself, but I have landed a job in my field-advertising and marketing. And if I have to make coffee, so be it. Nonetheless, I will get an endless amount of coffee for free!

Tattoos..great.story...great pickup line!

When getting a tattoo, there are many things to consider. Unless you happen to be that person(drunk or not) that does it on a whim, not thinking, and then in the morning, regrets it. I know someone who got a big samurai on his back. Still don't understand the meaning and/or purpose, but nonetheless the samurai remains and will remain until he is an old wrinkly man. Shouldn't there be more to the reason than just, "I like samurai's." Maybe or maybe not. Maybe they think they're a samurai, like batman. Normal guy by day, samurai by night. Who knows, and who cares. Only the person that got that tattoo in the first place. But doesn't it make you wonder why someone can't explain what their motives were for placing a specific, detailed permanent piece of artwork on their body?

This world map tattoo has specific meaning. It is NOT my wrist, but I know that it has a story. It has a meaning. And even if someone can't explain why they chose a certain tattoo, it always makes for great conversation, and a great story. Maybe tattoo's should be the new "Got a light" pickup line? You would be amazed to see how much you can learn about someone from a tattoo.

Don't be a Douchebag

< href="">

Clearly, we have all seen these type of guys when we are out and about and we think exactly what the girl says in the beginning. But what is really sad is that there are girls that fall for this. Tonight, I had the awesome experience of watching this youtube clip unfold in reality. Being sober and watching these dudes make complete fools of themselves is hilarious. Meanwhile, they probably think they are being suave and 'impressive.' It's beyond entertaining. There has got to be a better way to spend your Saturday evening. I wish there was a thesis I could write on social dysfunctions/dynamics in the nightlife of Portland. That would open a big can of worms!

PS

And part time work in the restaurant/bartending industry is fun, I wouldn't call it my dream or passion by any means.

Still Learning

We're always learning. And even though I could educate you on many travel dos and don'ts, or painting with acrylic, or the basics of a 35mm camera, I'm still learning how to figure out the basic crap of how to paste pictures and other inspirational things on here.

MORESO, I'm trying to figure out how to post my portfolio of wedding invites, cards, and other freelance material I have done. Good stuff is always beneficial. And let's face it, I would like to have a job doing what I love.

Old-fashioned?

This day in age we communicate via text, facebook, twitter, etc. DUH! But I wonder if there is a fragment of people out there that still write letters to one another, has an answering machine at home, or even an old Nokia phone. You remember those phones! Everyone had them and they were the 'coolest' phone at the time. And now they are the Zack Morris phone of this generation. How sad is that. Call me old fashion, but I think it would be nice to get a love letter, or to correspond through stationary, not texting!

It's a love-hate relationship with new technology and intentional relationships. And here I am, starting my blog page. Not because I'm out of the country or because I know you are all on the edge of your seating dying to know what Drew is doing with her life, but.......because it is another source of networking, being creative, showing off my wedding invites, and being able to be Drew!!! All the quirky, crazy, movie guru, inappropriate DREWNESS that you could ask for.

Maybe I'll continue to think about the simplicity of old-fashion living, but in the meantime work hard at the fast-paced lifestyle
